The Surroundings
Parkhotel Skalní město is situated right in the middle of the beautiful Czech Paradise, part of which are sandstone rock columns – the Prachov Rocks. The best known regional landmarks are visible from here (for example, the ruins of Trosky Castle, Velíš, Kumburk and Bradlec, Kozákov Hill, Tábor and Zebín), and it’s only a 10-minute walk to reach the imposing rocks themselves.

Sports Activities
|
We offer great conditions for seasonal cycle touring (new cycle path markings),
Rock climbing (a climbing guide can be arranged through reception); all-year walking trips (following perfectly marked Czech Hiking Club paths), car touring and prepared routes for individual guests in organised groups.
In the winter season there is a simple ski run with lift 12km away, with more extensive downhill ski runs about 45 km away. A winter stadium with ice rink, a fitness centre, massage and traditional spa can be found in Jičín.

For our guests we can organise horse riding, sightseeing flights and hire of tennis courts in Jičín. Or you can go swimming in the nearby Jinolice lakes (about 1.5 km) or in the “Pelíšek” forest swimming pool (1 km). The sports centre in Jičín
(in Hotel START) with its new Aquapark is a great place to spend a day in winter or during poor weather.

How to get to us?
The easiest way is by car – but you can get here by bus or train, too..

By car from Prague:
Prague - Mladá Boleslav - direction Jičín. Prague - Mladá Boleslav - direction Jičín. On the bypass you go past Sobotka Sobotka and right before the town of Jičín you turn left to the villages of Holín and Prachov. Then follow the signs to the hotel.
By car from Brno:
Brno – Prague motorway – turning to Havlíčkův Brod - Kolín – go past Poděbrady - Jičín – on the Jičín bypass don’t go all the way into town, but head towards Mlada Boleslav - after Jičín turn to the right to the villages of Holín and Prachov. Then follow the signs to the hotel.
By car from Ostrava:
Ostrava - Hradec Králové - Hořice - Úlibice – follow the Jičín bypass towards Mladá Boleslav - after Jičín turn to the right to the villages of Holín and Prachov. Then follow the signs to the hotel.
By car from Liberec:
Turnov - towards Jičín, about 2 km past the village of Kněžnice there is a railway crossing (Jinolice stop) – after the crossing turn right to the village of Jinolice. Then follow the signs to the hotel.

By bus:
to Jičín‘s bus station and from there a local bus to the Prachov-Skalní město stop or by foot.
By train from Turnov:
Turnov-Jičín-Hradec Králové line – you can either get off at Jinolice and then 4 km by road, following the signs to our hotel, or get off in Jičín and get a local bus or walk.
By train from Hradec Králové:
Hradec Králové - Jičín – Turnov line - you can either get off at Jinolice and then 4 km by road, following the signs to our hotel, or get off in Jičín and get a local bus or walk.
By train from Prague:
Prague - Poříčany – Jičín line. Get off at Jičín train station and catch a local bus.
